“COLORADO REMEMBERS 9/11”

What: Gov. John Hickenlooper and Mayor Michael Hancock will host “Colorado Remembers 9/11,” a memorial event to honor lives lost, first responders and members of the armed forces on Sept. 11, 2011. This ceremony will be followed by a free tribute concert celebrating America’s will to prevail. The memorial event will include a procession led by the Colorado National Guard and representatives from the Colorado public safety community, remarks by the Governor, Mayor and Sens. Mark Udall and Michael Bennet, the presentation of military honors to include a firing salute, a fly-over, the playing of Taps and public display of World Trade Center artifacts.

The free tribute concert will feature The Colorado Symphony, Tyler Ward, the Colorado Children’s Chorale and The Beach Boys.

Colorado Remembers 9/11 is presented by The Counterterrorism Education Learning Lab (The CELL) and The Denver Post, 9News and AEGLive Rocky Mountains.
