The Community Awareness Program™ (CAP) empowers citizens to help play a role in enhancing our community’s safety.

Developed by The Counterterrorism Education Learning Lab (The CELL) and the Colorado Information Analysis Center (CIAC), the CAP is an interactive curriculum, taught by Colorado public safety professionals, that provides citizens with the basic tools needed to recognize and help prevent terrorist and criminal activity in their hometowns.

How does it work?

Any citizen, preparedness group or business can sign up to take the CAP course. There is no fee to take the course, but you must register through The CELL. The courses are approximately 2.5 hours long, and are held at various times and locations throughout the State of Colorado.
